Ransomeware attack, announcement

Dear all

Hybrid solutions would like to announce that some of our clients' servers have been infected with a malware that causes mainly old versions of windows OS servers to collapse and suffer from a downtime from a few minutes to few days until it has been reactivated with brand new up to date servers.

Unfortunately this malware is encrypting all server data in a way that the hacker starts extorting his victims to pay a ransom for retrieving decrypting code. A few clients were close to losing some of their data but with the hard work of our support team over the past days and with efforts still carrying on, we have recovered most of our infected clients' servers with their data and those who did not have backup, we succeeded in recovering most of it online and provided offline data and reports for the few cases where their lost data was entered manually.

The good news is that none of our clients needed to contact hackers or pay them a single penny, everything went smooth and is under control, thanks to our team.

With this rare situation, we urge all our clients to keep their servers safe by not accessing them randomly or downloading any non-VertexFX software except the trusted anti-virus, malware or security software and keep taking frequent backup of their data even if they do that by daily job at the same servers or replicating server by online backup. We recommend other levels of offline backup outside the active datacenter completely, as most backup strategists recommend.

We send our appreciation and greeting to HS tech support team who kept their eyes open 24/7 monitoring our clients servers and managed this critical situation with the least losses.
